I am from the Isle Of Wight, UK and I have been in the profession for almost 4 years. My current role is as a deck – third officer One of the worst things that has happened to me is people not believing in me, doubting me, ridiculing me just for being female. (Until they get proven wrong!)
If I was an advocate for change, I would like the IMO to ensure that there would be the availability of something as simple as women’s shampoo/deodorant/sanitary products onboard. It would make a huge difference!
