Against The Tide

I am a student at the Maritime College in Latvia. Behind 4 years of training and now 6 months of practice as a deck cadet. Not without failures, fatigue, longing for family and friends. Work at sea is hard not only for women but also for men. In General, a person should be morally prepared for the fact that he will be far from home for a long time when there will be “a boiling life” and there will be bright or difficult events for loved ones, but you will not be around.

The IMO organization has made a great contribution to such a “hot” topic as gender equality in navigation over the years. But still the old generation, there are stereotypes about women in the sea. It is worth accepting this and moving towards your goals.
